This weeks Friday Choon is by Pendulum. Why because I went to see them last night and they absolutely...flat out...rocked! I love Pendulum because they are really timeless, they have invented their own genre of music - heavy metal drum and bass with a wee bit of pop.
Genre creation aside they are just amazing live and sound amazing recorded... Turn up your speakers and jump around to this: Pendulum - SLAM .... BTW The video is a bit grim but funny.

Friday 14th May Friday Choon
Ok this one is fresher than a pair of white nike trainers straight out of the box that was vacumn packed and stored in a summer meadow.
This guy James Blake is a 22 year old music student and is attendign the same school that Blur went to. I think this choon from his forthcoming CMYK ep is cool as. Check it out and watch out for future stuff. I reckon we can expect some nice RMX's from him. BTW he is not a 70's tennis icon...that's another James Blake.

Friday Choon 30th April
This Choon is the biggest Choon since Time Deluxe's it just won't do. It got played on the radio a bit but I think it will be proper huge thropughout this summer. The Crookers have mixed i tup and made it a little bit more nasty but the original is priceless.
Dennis Ferrer's - Hey Hey
and just for some extra bonus fun here is Tim Deluxe's seminal classic it just won't do.

Friday Choon 9th April 2010
OK a nice chilled summery choon to kick off the weekend. Maybe a little pre-mature for BBQ Weather but hey who knows :)Might be time to crack open the beers and eat raw meat!
I never ever thought I would like a choon that Norah jones featured on but then Q-Tip can really make anythign sound good. their new album is defo a return to form. This weeks Choon is Q-Tip feat. Norah Jones- "Life Is Better"
Totally unrelated, check out a new band I am helping to manage called Battle for 2nd Place

I'm not afraid to say it...this weeks Friday Choon is a shamless plug for an upcoming FLASH MOB called the ''Battle for Second Place, Easter Egg and Spoon Race'' which is actually a plug for ''Battle for Second Place '' ahead of the release of their debut single. They are planning the FLASH MOB to raise awareness of the band who's mission is to become the second best band in the world. If you want to get involved witht he FLASH MOB then go here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=app_2344061033&gid=292049686251#!/event.php?eid=370830554115
So with all this in mind....what is the choice for thsi weeks Choon...
Well what else could it be than Green Velvet's Flash.....''cameras's ready prepare to FLASH MOB''

Friday Choon 5th March 2010
This weeks Friday Choon is from way back, well a few years anyway... about 1000 years in Dance music.....since getting my new iPhone I've not actually got round to filling it with new music so I'm digging through old CD's to listen to in the car. This morning I picked up the Chemical Brothers Surrender complete with suspicously stained cover and of course broken hinges on the box. As I was powering through the Scottish countryside on the way to work this morning I found myself gradually turning up the volume on the stereo and getting a little faster until I was probably going a little too fast.
This weeks Friday Choon is from the legendary Chemical Brothers with the epic yet, relatively unheard of, Sunshine Underground.....this choon brings back memories of summer festivals and specifically T in the park before it got too huge.....

Friday Choon 26th February
Ok this song has featued before but last time it was a remix of the original artist. This one is a completely new verison by an artist called Hawa. The track is of course Justice's legendary D.A.N.C.E. This version is a kind of chilled out easy listening version which I like because I feel like Friday Choon's have been a wee bit too banging recently
check this out and ....chill
